Northerners who don't like southerners? - why are rednecks called hicks
Just do not understand why the North very difficult to talk about rednecks and southerners referred to Hicks and many of them south? They say they can not drive, they say, they talk weird, you know why we moved here? I think that much against the North-South in those days that the city against the country. I grew up in a rural village on the California / Oregon border. For a while I lived in a big town near Sacramento. I called a Rube ignorant (and many other things behind me, I'm sure). I've heard people talk about "Hicks their sisters or brothers and deformed babies" I do not know who is married to marry a brother or cousin. And you? Have you noticed how the media cover the news when an act of violence that is against a minority in a small town? It is automatically labeled as a hate crime, but not the trouble, the whole world if the same race. Most of the city people assumed that people in small towns, or worse, the farm, are sexist, racist pigs, who eat with knives and have no teeth and can not read his own name. Some are, but not all. People Are People. It socioeconomic class, good and bad in every race, gender, white (wow look at the ignorant yokel, a big word!)and cultural environment. Yes, you can learn more about the potatoes on Broadway, but I was exposed to live theater, and I know you must turn off the phone, hold my applause until the game is over. City people could identify one of you to have a series of two potatoes, or the distinction between the heart and legs black hole? The truth is that people from rural areas is probably a bit ignorant of the culture of city life, but the citizens have to know about rural life and culture. We all have our own prejudices and assumptions, and never change, if they are not called into question. We in the rural areas have repeatedly called into question our assumptions, the media and the Internet and the influx of people in our urban culture. When is the last time was any of you people from the city actually spoke with a campaign honestly and openly, without prejudice on the way?
I live in Wisconsin, born in Illinois ... most people of my region (north) are a group of Hicks. many good people here, but many do not speak. I believe that Americans in general, how to complain, and everyone wants to be better than all. I truly believe that most people who enjoy the Southerners not only never been to the south, but you know nothing. Television is without doubt one of the biggest problems .. they love to show the bad side of everything, and usually represent the South-as a bunch of people sitting on the porch playing the banjo. Amercan copy what they see, most of the time, and he never made the end of the day of their lives through television, they can learn about the real world. I worked in Tennessee for 3 weeks in November last year and it was my first time in the south over an extended period in zone 1 I've learned that people around 5,000 times more friendly, then I have to live where. Yes, most of the time, all crazy and the people are ignorant.
